I decided on taking a walk along the beach at Bognor Regis the other afternoon, very little wind but rather cold. I’ve processed this first image as a b&w because the sky was so grey there didn’t seem to be any other option. The images are in shooting sequence, although I shot far more than are shown here. It covers a period of a little over an hour and twenty minutes.
No sunset this evening.
A brief history of Bognor Regis Pier.
First planned back in 1835, the first pile was driven in 1864 and the pier opened on 5th May 1865, total length was 1000 feet. Sold in 1876 for £1200. A small landing stage was added in 1903. It was to change ownership several times until the present owners purchased it in 1995. The current length of the pier is 350 ft. Further information can be found here at the National Piers Society.
